Filling type: Saline, Silicone Gel, or Highly Cohesive Silicone “Gummy Bear” Implants. Neither is “best,” but there are some differences in cost, feel, and incision requirements that you need to consider. Your cosmetic surgeon, Dr Joseph Hirschfeld, will help you find the right implant type for you.

Gummy bear breast implants are one of the options available for breast augmentation. The term “gummy bear” is actually a nickname for these teardrop-shaped, gel-based implants. They’re known to retain their shape better than other types of breast implants made from saline and silicone.

Cohesive gel “Gummy Bear” implants have a distinct shape, and they will impart it upon the visible shape of the breast. “Gummy Bear” breast implants do not fold or ripple and they do not leak. Since the fill does not shift from one area of the shell to the other, shell collapse and folds do not seem to occur, even in long term follow up. Shell failures will occur less frequently because ripples occur so infrequently which will prevent leaks.
